Les niveaux de connaissance en langue ont été classés et définis par le Conseil de l'Europe. Cette norme européenne, appelée cadre européen commun de référence, est acceptée et reconnue dans tous les pays de l'Union Européenne. Elle détermine précisément les compétences que doit posséder l'apprenant pour communiquer dans certains contextes.
The Olympic Games are very ancient. They first took place in Greece in 776 BC. In those days they were already an important international event. They attracted thousands of spectators. People came from all over the ancient world to watch the competitions. Running was the most important sport in those days. In 393 AD, the Roman Emperor Theodosius I stopped the Games. He was a Christian and he believed the Games were unchristian.
A Frenchman called Pierre de Coubertin started the modern Olympics. The first meeting was in Athens in 1896. Three hundred sportsmen from thirteen countries took part. The sports at these first Olympics included running, swimming, tennis, cycling and gymnastics. The athletics competitions took place in the ancient Panathinaiko Stadium and the swimming in the Aegean Sea. In 2004 the Olympic Games took place in Athens again. It was to commemorate their 100th anniversary.
